Walk through these steps to help determine whether you have a case that a lawyer will take. This isn’t meant to cover all possible scenarios. But it can give you a good idea about what we’re looking for as utah attorney personal injury.

Answer these questions to find out if you have a personal injury case.

Question 1

Do you believe you are 50% or more at fault for the accident that caused your injuries?

If your answer is yes, then you may not have a case. In Utah and many states, you cannot be 50% or more at fault for the accident. If 50% or more at fault, you can’t recover anything from another party.

If your answer is no, then go to question 2.

Question 2

Did this accident happen at work?

If your answer is yes, then go to question 3.
If your answer is no, then go to question 4.

Question 3

Did someone other than a co-employee contribute at all to the accident?

If your answer is yes, then go to Question 4.

Question 4

Did this accident happen while using or driving a motor vehicle?

If yes, go to Question 5.
If no, go to Question 6.

Question 5

If you were in a car accident, is at least one of the following statements true:

A family member died in the accident;
I am now permanently disabled;
I have permanent scarring or disfigurement; or
I have or will have at least $3,000 in medical bills?

If your answer is yes, go to Question 6.
If your answer is no, you may not need a car accident lawyer in Utah. You will need to work with your own auto insurance company to get compensation. Without one of these four things, you likely don’t have a claim against a third-party.

Question 6

Did the accident either cause new injuries or aggravate old injuries?

If your answer is yes, then go to Question 7.

If your answer is no, then you may not have a case that requires an accident lawyer. To make an injury claim, we require that you have physical or mental injuries.

Question 7

Does the person or company at fault have insurance or another way to reimburse you?

If you don’t know the answer to this question, no problem! We can help you. We’re great at finding insurance coverage or another way to get you compensated.
